Make It Monday #55 Challenge

Hello everyone, I'm here today with my take on the Papertrey ink Make it Monday challenge #55. The challenge to to use one of your existing frame stamps to make a card using Dawn's frame stretching technique. I knew this was going to be a challenge because I only have one acrylic frame stamp. It turned out to easier than I thought.

I stamped the rectangular frame four times to make one large frame. Then I strategically started filling the center so you wouldn't see where the frames connected. I also decided to stamp patterned paper because I need practice in that area. Here's a close up of the framed area. (After previewing this post I can see that the frame isn't showing up well. You can click on the photo to make it larger. Hopefully that will help.)

I used PTI's Aqua mist ink for the frame.  I die cut the eyelet oval twice. Once using a PTI coaster and once in the pattern paper. I wanted it raised off the paper a bit and was afraid you might be able to see the extra frame lines if I used pop dots. Now here's the finished card.

Note the area between the bottom of the frame and the ribbon.  I plan on adding a sentiment at a later time.
The ribbon and cardstock are from PTI also. The patterned paper is from a small My Minds Eye Stack called Jack & Jill. I love the red, aqua, orange-red and turquoise colors in this paper. I also used this stack for the PTI blog hop challenge on Saturday. The photos are below if you wish to see more of the patterns. Thanks again for stopping in.

After being away from my blog for almost a year I decided to post some photos yesterday for the Papertrey ink February Blog Hop Challenge. I couldn't believe what a mess my blog had become. So I'm back today to clean up the mess and give the old blog a new look. I like it for now.  It may change again at a later date.

So what Have I been up to for the last year you ask?  I took up scrap booking. And scrap I did, with more than 30 2-page layouts.  My Mom passed in March of last year and I felt it therapeutic to put some memories in a book just for myself.

What?!? no cards? well of course I didn't give up card making. Here are a few of my cards since I've been gone.
My son bought a new house last summer. Since he works 60+ hours most weeks during the summer I became his personal assistant and go-between with the Realtors.  They are both super ladies and couldn't have been more helpful. I sent each of them this card with a thank you.

A friends B'day card. She's in a band and loves interactive cards.

This years over the top Valentines.

A Christmas card to my other son who is living in Hawaii. I wanted to give him a taste of home as we live in snow country. I hope you've enjoyed this short summary of my past year cards. I hope to be back tomorrow with some other projects.

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge 3

This will be my last post for today. I wanted to add one more card to the challenge.

Before I do that I want to apologize for my photos today. I should have used my good camera. It's been a rush-rush day.
Another fun card that was so easy to make using Papertrey's mover & shakers: Poppers die. Don't miss out on the  fun. You can find more like this at http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge second post

Well Hello Again
I told you I'd be back today with another post.
April is our rainy season and it certainly brings May flowers. I like to send a card like this out to my friends when we've had a solid week of rain.
So easy with Papertrey ink's new Movers & Shakers dies.
I may be back with another post if blogger doesn't give me a hard time. It's soooo slow today.
Always,
Jana

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Well Hello Everyone.  It's been ages since I last posted. I bring you today my entries into the Papertreyink February Blog Hop Challenge.

Today it's all about interactive cards.
I made this card for my son who is living in Hawaii and attending helicopter school. Money is tight so I like to send him little favors such as Starbuck gift cards.

I didn't have stamps that conveyed my sentiment. I simply used my computer and printed it out. Then I  cut them out using my cuttlebug using the Papertreyink Banners die. I made myself a stencil to line up the words with the die.
Easy peasy.  I'll be back in a few minutes with another interactive card. Thanks for stopping by and if you want to see more, and of course you do, join the fun here http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/  Always,
Jana
