Vinyl for Laptop

Wow, it's truly been a long time since my last post. I hope I can remember how to do it.

I bought a new laptop and decided it needed to be decorated. The laptop it's self is a strange color, almost a burnt copper and I love it. This is what I came up with using my Cricut and vinyl.

Welcome everyone, I have a quick post for you tonight. My sister Pamm turned sixty this week. We went to a girls lunch at a friends restaurant with other family. I had been wanting to try one of these so I thought this would be a good time to do it. Here's a quick pic of the center three pennants I hung up around our table.

I don't have a cartridge with a scalloped pennant so I designed this one using George and Basic Shapes in Design Studio. The letters and numbers were cut using Base Camp

Day 7 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards" Bloopers and a Give-A-Way

Hello Again Everyone. Today is day 7 of my series "Seven Days of quilt cards" I can't believe how fast this week flew by. As promised here are the quilt cards that didn't make the cut.

I like it but I sent it out before taking a pic.

I loved this card until I decided to add the ribbon. Note to self: add patches after ribbon so they are centered.

Sloppy zig-zag edge. I might tear it apart and rework it.

Now for some blog candy.

Day 6 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards"

Good Afternoon Friends. Today is day six of my series "seven Days of quilt cards". Today's card is not what I had intended to post. Long story short, I took some new pics and my PC isn't recognizing my camera!?! I have no idea what this is all about and I don't have time to fix it today. So today's card isn't really a quilt but I think it will fit in.

This is a last minute replacement so I don't have all the details in front of me. The green pine boughs are a Martha Stewart punch. The berries are simply a 1/16 circle punch. The Merry Christmas is a Stampin' Up stamp that I heat embossed using a fine white embossing powder. Around each block I embossed the cross stitching using a small cuttlebug folder. The paper I bought at Joann's. It comes in a 8.5" X 11" sheet so it's perfect for card making.

Day 5 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards"

Happy Friday Everyone, Today is day 5 of my series seven days of quilt cards. This card was made using a 3/4" punch. You can see details to make these cards on day 2, just scroll down.

This is one of my favorite quilt cards to make. (I need to go back and fix a couple of the triangle patches though.) Because I like the simple look of this I decided not to add any stitch marks on this one. After I finished this I went back in with a marker and added some color to the white patterned paper. I felt it need that to pull the apricot color in. I stamped the label with a dotted argyle print (in matching ink) and then stamped happy birthday on top.

Day 4 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards"

Hi Ya Ladies, Today is day four of my series "Seven Days of Quilts". This card is an easel card that uses only two colors, Whisper White and Apricot Appeal, both from Stampin Up. I often use Stampin Up designer paper for my quilts. I find that the small patterns lend themselves to a quilt look.The blocks are cut using a 3/4" punch.

I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add some stitching around the patches. After completing my block I mounted it on apricot then white card stock. Then I cut the card the same width. That way I have a perfect fit.

I find the sentiment very versatile just by adding a special message inside. This stamp can be used as a get well card, I miss you card or just to let someone know you care. After stamping this I heat embossed it using a fine clear embossing powder.

Day 3 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards"

Good Afternoon All,
Today is day three of my series "Seven Day of Quilt Cards, I have two cards to show you today. They are the same card, almost.

This first card, as you can see, has a fall theme. I cut the leaves on my Cricut using A Childs Year cartridge..I used all Stampin Up paper and inks, with the exception of the 2nd layer which came from the new DCWV fall small stack.

This second card I intend to give a new born when I go to visit after he or she is born.

The butterflies were punched out using a Martha Stewart punch.

These cards are 5 X 5.50", the first layer is cut at 4 5/8" X 4 5/8". the second layer is cut at 4 3/8" x 4 3/8". The colored squares were punched out using a 1 1/4" square punch and the white squares were punched out using a 1" square punch. Again I used all Stampin Up cardstock except for the second layer that came in a DCWV small stack.

This is Faux Stitching tape, isn't this just the cutest. I can wait to use mine. Later in the week I'll be posting a link to a video showing you how easy this is to use. I'll be giving away a roll of this at the end of this series.

Day 2 of "Seven Days of Quilt Cards"

Good Afternoon, Today is the second day of my series "Seven Days of Quilt Cards".
I'm going to begin by showing you how I put these together,

You can click on the pictures to make them bigger.
I start with a piece of graph paper. Because for this card I was using 3/4" patches and 5 squares to a row (25 patches) I need to draw a 15 X15 square block. (3/4" patch =9 graph squares or one patch,)

I've already decided on my color choices so I've punched out a few patches and started to lay out a pattern.

Note that some of these squares I've cut in half diagonally. I do that using a small pair of sharp paper snips.
.Here's a pic of my finished layout. Now the fun begins.

Once I had a layout of the quilt block I drew a small cheat sheet (one graph square equals one patch) Now it's time to start gluing down the patches.

The important part here is staying within the square you've drawn on your graph paper. Each of the punched patches will take up 9 of the graph paper squares (3 across by 3 down) I like to work from left to right laying one patch at a time. It's easier to put the glue on the graph paper rather than on the patches. I lightly fill in the first of the 9 graph squares and lay the first patch so that it fits exactly in the corner. It's more important that your patches match up to the graph lines rather than to the next piece. This keeps your block square.

After all your patched have been glued down allow it to dry. Then using a paper cutter trim off the graph paper and just a sliver of the block all at once to make it even. Your block should measure between 3 X 3" to 2 7/8 X 2 7/8" without any graph paper showing like in the pic above. I mounted this on a piece of matching cardstock measuring (1st layer plum) 4 1/8" X 4 1/8" and (2nd layer green) 4" X4".

Here is the finished card.

Clear as mud right? I picked one of the harder cards to show you the instructions. If you want to try this but it seems overwhelming you can make a 9 patch square with a 1" square punched patch.. You can copy the center of this card for that, just remember that a 1" patch takes up 12 graph squares.

Seven Days of Quilt Cards and Give-A-Way

Hello everyone, Today starts a new series I'm calling "Seven Days of Quilt Cards". Two of my favorite things to create are cards and quilts. So this seems like a natural project for me. If that isn't enough for you, lol, I'll be having a small give-a-way at the end of this series. Here's a hint, it's small in size, new to me and very cool. If you like stitching on cards, you'll love it.

This first card I created in honor of the Forth of July, but could be used for Patriot's Day too.

It's a Z shaped card cut at 4.25" X 11". I scored it from the left at 2.75" and 5.5". It finished into an A2 card. The solid blue and red pieces were cut at 4.25" X 2.50". I then added faux stitching around the boarder. The quilt finished at 3" X 3" and then mounted on a piece of red cardstock that measures 3.25" X 3.25"

I used all Stampin' Up paper and cardstock. Tomorrow I'll be posting the details on how I piece these cards. If you want to play along you'll need:
A 3/4" square punch
Graph paper, 4 squares to an inch.
Ruler
Zig 2 way glue
Scrap paper in varies designs and colors that pleases your eye.The basic quilt uses a light, medium and dark color. Some of these cards will and some won't. It's really up to you.

Vinyl Decorated Step Stool

Happy Weekend Everyone, I have just a quick post for you tonight. I picked up this step stool a few weeks ago for my grand niece (age 3 ). I was getting ready to drop it off when I thought that I should decorate it with some vinyl. Here's the final result.

I used the Cricut cartridges:

Songbird for the lettering.

A Childs Year for the book, child reading, bathtub and duck images.

Create A Critter for the butterfly and Bird.

I cut the vinyl at a depth of 4, pressure 3, and speed 2.

As you can see, the butterfly and bird were layered, my first attempt.

Kimono Card

Hi All, This week starts my family's birthday madness.
Last winter my sister and I went to a showing of antique kimonos in Rochester, NY. We were in awe if the details and workmanship. With that in mind I made her this card.

Using the Pagoda cartridge I cut the Kimono on page 72 at four inches.
The A2 card base is Stampin'Up Ballet Blue Cardstock
1st layer was cut at 5.25 X 4"
2nd layer, SU Brilliant Blue, was cut at 5 X 3.75"
Kimono base, vanilla cs, was spritzed with iridescent gold Glimmer Mist.
After I layered the Asian print on top I outlined it and the cut floweres with a Gelly Roll clear star pen.

I finished the inside with the base of the Kimono. I inked the edges and stamped the sentiment with SU Ballet Blue.

Blue Moon Necklace

Welcome Everyone, Can you believe that Labor Day is over and we're a week into September? Where did the summer go!
My brother-in-law was married this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun to see all of my dh's family. I made this necklace to go with the dress I wore.

Bonsai Card

Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone, I have such a fun busy weekend planned. Tomorrow My 40 year old brother-in law finally ties the knot. Today's card was made using the Cricut cartridge Pagoda. I want to send a simple thank you card to my friend who brought me along this week on a fun three day trip.
I used all stamping Up cardstock and inks. The Card is Crumb Cake, the tree is Early Espresso and the leaves are Garden Green. I cut the images at four Inches, inked the edges and ran them through the cuddle bug using the Swiss Dot and Worn Wood (?) folders.

I finished the inside using the Kanji cuts on this cartridge cut at 3.50". The Kanji cut is the symbol for Journey.

Thank You Card using a Rub-On

Hi Everyone, I've been busy getting some projects ready for the French Manor blog hop. You can start the hop here on Saturday morning. I'll be giving away some blog candy and you'll find more candy along the hop. So please join us this weekend, we'd love for you to see what this cartridge is all about.

Today I noticed I was out of simple Thank You cards. I always like to keep a selection of simple cards on hand. This is what I made, no bling, no fancy cuts, no hardware, just a simple double ribbon. The image is a rub-on from a retired Stampin Up set. This is only the second time I've used a rub-on. I was always afraid of them, so I'm surprised how easy it is.

Because the card is dark brown I finished the inside.

Another Owl?!? lol, I couldn't resist. Besides, I already that the ink open.

Patchwork Pumpkin Card

Hello Everyone, I promised myself I wouldn't start any Autumn projects until after Labor Day. Our summer's are to short, in my neck of the woods, to spend any time on the "next season". But today it sure felt like fall. The sky was so gray I need lights on to get any work done and with a high of 62 wet degrees, I sure didn't want to be outside. So here is today's card. I saw this in the September issue of Cardmaker. I knew I would love to make this card. It incorporates my two favorite hobbies, papercrafting and quilting.

I used the paper pack from DCWV called Amber Autumn. The leaf was cut from the Cricut cartridge A Child's Year. I inked the edge of the very vanilla cardstock with Always Artichoke. The pumpkin edges were inked with Pumpkin Orange, both from Stampin Up, I embossed the pumpkin stem with the Cuttle bug folder With Love Borders, I used the flower stems. The leaf and a pumpkin piece were embossed with CB Snow Swirls. The sentiment is from Gina K.Designs stamp set Thanksgiving.

Here's a close up of the pumpkin.

I plan on redoing this card with Straw colored raffia and a different card design. I'll post it on day 8 of my next seven day series.

Day Seven of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Good Afternoon Everyone, Here we are, Day seven. This has been so much fun. I bet you are expecting to see another Owl card today. Surprise, It's not a card. I found this on sale at Micheal's ($1.50) this weekend. I thought what a great little box to put cards in. All it needs is a little altering.

I added a family of Owls that I again cut from Hoot & Holler. This is the same trio of Owls that I cut for day five's card. This time I flipped it and left the leaves on. I also cut some leaves from the Cart A Childs Year. The cardstock and paper are all from SU, although some have been retired. The ribbon is from my stash. Don't you just love the clasp?

Here's a pic of the inside. As you can see there is plenty of room to hold 10-12 cards and envies.I hope you have all enjoyed my series. Day Six of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Hello Everyone and Welcome to my series "Seven Days of Owls". Today is day 6 and as promised I've made a masculine card.

I cut this owl out using my Cricut and the Campout cartridge. I cut the image, blackout and shadow features at 3.25". The plaid and leaf papers are from the DCWV mat stack "Amber Autumn". I love the sentiment, it's from a Gina K. Design set.

Here's a pic of the inside of the card. I made a major boo-boo when I was making this card and needed to redo the front. I was planning on finishing the inside because the green is so dark. Not one to waste what can be salvaged, I simply cut off the top and bottom and turned it so the plaid is on the bottom. As a bonus it helps to keep the card from being too front heavy.

Day Five of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Good Afternoon Everyone and welcome to day five of my series "Seven Days of Owls". Today's card has a winter theme. Something I find difficult to do when the weather is hot & humid. Never the less here is today's card.

This is an A2 card. The owl was cut at 3.25 using my Cricut cartridge Hoot & Holler cut #34. This is a lite cart. that is exclusive to Walmart. I like it because all the images are all Owl related. The images are all very easy to layer too. I did modify this image by snipping off the leaves on the branches to give it a winter look. The colors I used were a true white and SU's Boarding Blue. The owls themselves were cut using some cardstock from my stash.I stamped the images using SU's retired stamp set Bundle Up. I used whisper white craft ink but wasn't satisfied with the results so I used a white Gelly Roll pen to outline the Brrr and to draw over the snowflakes. Then after it dried I went over a few of the snowflakes with a Gelly Roll clear Star pen to add a bit of shimmer. Hope you've enjoyed today's card. Day four of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Good Evening All, Today is day four of my "Seven Days of Owls" series. If you missed day one, two or three be sure to scroll down to see all of them.

Today's card is way out of my comfort zone. I love the vintage look but I really struggle with it. I think maybe I don't like to make cards look dingy, lol. I really prefer clean lines.

This card measures 4 X 6. I used basic grey cardstock for the card. I cut and embossed vanilla light cardstock using a cuttlebug embossing plus named "lace door". I cut two Nestabilities labels from the "labels eight" set. One in vanilla and the other in Going Grey. The owl was stamped with a Studio G. stamp in a dark grey metallic studio G. pigment ink. I then heat embossed him with a fine detail black embossing powder. I thought he needed more so using a embossing pen I filled him in and used Sweet Stamps pearl and medieval metals embossing powders. I put it together and then sprayed the entire front of the card with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. I made the prima flowers by inking them with Tim Holtz Distressed Tea Dye and Vintage Photo inks. The half pearls are from my stash.

A word about the CB Embossing Plus by Provo Craft. I found this to be a total P.I.T.A. I have tried using every weight of paper and cardstock. It's very difficult to remove from the folder. The tiny pieces have to be pushed out or they stick in the folder and are very time consuming to remove. I may in the future try another of these folders but only if the cuts aren't so small.

Day Three of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Good Evening Everyone, I'm posting a bit later than usual tonight because I got a late start today and it's thrown my whole day off. Today's card was super simple and IMO super cute. I started with a white card.

The first layer is SU's pink passion. The second layer is Kiwi's embroidery paper that I purchased at Jo-Ann's. The Owls where a strip of paper I cut from a sheet called "Honey I'm Home" by Bella Blvd. The button is from my stash. The ribbon I bought at my local scrapbook store.
I just love the clean lines of this card. I hpe you like it too.

Day Two of the "Seven Days of Owls"

Welcome Everyone to Day Two of the "Seven Days of Owls". Today's card is a pedestal card and was made with my Cricut and the Hoot & Holler cartridge. The Owl I used is the number #15 and the cut size is 3 1/2". The first layer or base layer is the new red from Stampin'Up called Cherry Cobbler, This may be my new favorite red. The second layer is black. The third layer is a plaid from my stash that I believe I bought in JoAnn's. I didn't care for the eyes so I simply punched out two small gold circles using a small hole punch.

The base of this card (red) is cut at 4 1/4" X 8 1/2". Then scored at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8" . The base paper(plaid, behind the Owl) is cut at 4 1/4 X 4 1/4". Because this is paper and flimsy I backed it with a piece of the cherry cobbler cardstock cut to the same size The gold cardstock is cut at 4 X 4.

For the sentiment area I cut a piece of gold card stock again at 4 X 4". Then add layer of black at 2 X 3 1/4 and a Layer of 1 3/4 X 3" to stamp a sentiment on. I used a Happy Birthday stamp issued in 1993 from SU, and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler. I popped up the sentiment with EK black pop dots.

Black Pop-Dots? Really?? Who knew? not me. I was so excited when I found them at a local scrapbook shop. Perfect when using dark paper and cardstock.

Seven Days of Owls

Hello Everyone, Please forgive me for not posting lately. I came home from a wonderful vacation to a ton of laundry, housework, lawn and garden work, and then company here last weekend.
Today I'm starting a series I'm calling "Seven Days of Owls". My Niece has asked me to make a set of Owl themed cards to give her Mother-in-law. If Owls aren't your thing, hang in there. I think you like the card designs.

This is the first card I made. The cardstock is SU as is the designer paper. The Owl is a SU rub-on. The eyelets are from Gina K. designs and the flower I cut with my Cricut using the George cartridge.

The card is an A2 card. The first layer was cut at 4 1/8 X 5 1/4. The two long blocks were cut at 3 3/4 X 1. The two shorter blocks were cut at 2 7/8 X 1 1/4. The center block was cut at 2 1/2 X 1 7/8. The dimensions may change depending on your center piece. This size worked for me because of the size of the owl. I left a space for a sentiment along the bottom in case she wants one, if not I think it looks fine with out it.

Altered Notebook

Happy, Happy Friday Everyone, It's an especially happy Friday for me. Tomorrow I leave for a week on Cape Cod. I'm so excited. Besides being one of my favorite places to visit, I have lots of family coming along. Not to worry I will be posting while I'm away. Be sure to stop back on Wednesday. I have a special card to show you and a Give-A-Way.

Now on to business. A few days ago I found some small generic notebooks at the dollar tree. I've been wanting to try altering one for a time. The price was right so I picked up a few.

The plastic covers were easy enough to remove. I then traced them on to chipboard and cut them out. I traced the chipboard on the back of my paper and glued it on using the large Zig 2-way dauber. Then I lined up the plastic cover on the chipboard and punched the holes. Then I glued the opposite side with my paper. then using my hole punch again I line up the holes with the punch and punched through the paper. It made for perfect holes. Using a black marker I edged the whole cover so the chipboard didn't show. I did the back cover the same way and put both covers back on the binder/notebook.

I liked the dividers but not the tabs so I snipped them off. Now it was time to decorate the cover. Everything I used I had on hand. The orangesh buttons I purchased this summer at my local Scrapbook store, but I can't remember the maker. The tag is Graphic 45. The small clock was also a punch-out from Graphic 45 that I made with SU's build-a-brad. The cute brad I found on sale at Jo-Ann's this week. A set of 12 for 99 cents. The paper was from my stash.

Embossed and Layered Medallion Flower

Hello Again Friends and Followers. Yesterday the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo was in town. So many choices and so little money, lol. One item on my list to check out was a medallion stamp. I chose this one because I knew it would be easy to cutout.

To begin I choose four different colors I wanted to use from my scrap bin. I stamped the image in Versamark once on the green and twice on each of the purples. I then heat embossed them with pearl fine detail embossing powder. Once they cooled I cut them out.

Here you can see all seven layers and the embossing. The lighter colors didn't photograph was well as the darker.

Beginning with the largest I started the layering. Layer 1-2 I glued, 2-3 I pop dotted, 3-4 I glued, 4-5 I pop dotted, 5-6 I pop dotted and 6-7 I glued. In the center of layer seven I added a purple half back jewel.The hardest part to making this was picking the colors. I choose all SU cardstock, Garden Green, Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace and Almost Amethyst.

The stamp measures 4 X 4 inches so all my scraps were that size or smaller. The stamp is from Holly Berry House. They have a large selection of medallion rubber stamps. The embossing powder is from Sweetstamps.com. I highly recommend it for fine detail embossing. I hope you enjoyed this post. I'll be doing more of these for Christmas. Can't you just see these in Poinsettia colors?

Nugget Boxes

Hello Followers, I have something a little different tonight. I've been making these for a while. Everyone seems to enjoy them. These I made for my Mother to give to her bridge friends when she's hosts her bridge game. They make cute shower or wedding favors. I also slip them in my children's Christmas stockings.

If you haven't seen these before they slide open to reveal three Hershey Nugget chocolates.

Flip Card aka Swing Card

Happy Friday Everyone, I had some exciting news today. I won some blog candy at http://kingstonskreations.blogspot.com/ If you get a chance stop over and take a look at this super cute site. Wendy is a SU demo and has posted some great projects.

On to today's card. Another project I hadn't tried before. It's called a swing card but is also known as a flip card. I've even seen it called a flip flop card. As you open the card the center flips to show you the other side of the center piece.

I'm sorry about the quality of these pics. It's been a very rainy day here, which never makes for good photos. I wasn't happy with the video tutorial I had saved. Pulley Card

Good Morning everyone, I'm posting early today because I was just too darn tired last night. Today's card is another that has been making the rounds for a while. Whenever I find a video tutorial that looks interesting to me I save it. Lately I've been going back and I'm sure some of you have seen or tried this card. This is my first attempt.

I used a bit of everything for this. DCWV and ki memories paper ( now on clearance at JoAnn's) and SU Pixie Pink. SU Little flowers,Big Flowers and vintage labels stamp set. A small saying from a Gina K. stamp set. SU's crushed Curry, Pixie Pink and Bravo Burgundy inks. And a jelly roll orange star pens for just the small flower center on the cover.
These are not my usual colors. I'm trying to work outside my comfort zone. I made this card for my daughter and I think she'll enjoy it.

Hello Kitty Graduation Card

Hello Again Everyone, Today was one of those days when I needed to keep busy. It was to be moving day for my DD. She happens to be the youngest and last to leave the nest. Well, she was all packed and ready to go, when she decided to wait until the morning. So it looks like I'll need to keep busy tomorrow too. She'll only be 2.5 hours away, but I will miss her dearly.

On to happier occasions. My niece graduated High school last month. She's holding her party next weekend so I needed to get her card ready. She just so happens to be a "Hello Kitty" fan too. I think this card will be perfect for her.

This card is 5.5 X 4.25. I cut Hello Kitty using my Cricut and the Hello Kitty cartridge. She was cut at 3". I used my nieces school colors of green and white with gold. All the paper is from Stampin' Up, except the glitter paper I used for Kitty's face, hands and feet. The gold was just a scrap from my scrap bin. The congratulations was stamped in Handsome Hunter on a Martha Stewart label. I'm very pleased with the way this came out. I hope you enjoyed this too. Until next time, Jana

Heat Embossed Split Negative Card

Welcome Friends, I'm back today with a technique that is new to me. I had this tutorial saved for sometime but I hadn't gotten around to trying it until today. I'm surprised at how easy it was.

Button Down Shirt Cards

Hello Everyone, I want to start out by apologize for not posting in the last 12 days. What can I say, it's summer and I've been super busy. I promise to try and post more. Today I have two cards to show you. One for a woman and the other for a man. I think these are super cute gatefold cards. Mary Driggs did a tutorial on Paper Craft Planet of these. The red blouse is made using all Stampin' Up except for the collar. After much practice I used a Martha Stewart border punch to make the collar look lacy.
For the men's golf shirt I again used Stampin'Up paper and cardstock. The buttons are from my stash. I cut the small alligator with my Cricut using the Create a Critter cartridge and then inked it up.

Super Simple Notecard

Hello again friends, Can you believe it's almost Friday! yeah the weekend! I'm excited can you tell? Today's card is super simple. It's a A2 card made using all Stampin'Up! ( no, I don't work for them, but I love their products) The base is Melon Mambo, the first layer is Black and the top layer is Whisper White. I used the Vintage Labels stamp set to stamp the front in classic black ink. Then using a one inch circle punch for the pink Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. I glued those to the center of each stamp and trimmed along the sides. At the last minute I decided not to stamp a greeting on the outside. ( you can see that the upper left corner is empty. That was to be the lower left corner. Have I confused you?) I wanted to added some ribbon instead. So using my small horizontal punch, I punched a small slit along the top of the card.Could this be any easier? Hope you enjoyed it.

I used the Cricut "Create a Critter". I had so many furry animal options with this cartridge . I live in deer country and we had a pair of orphan fawns living in our backyard last summer.so that is what I chose.

Father's Day Card Giveaway

I made this card as a tribute to my Dad who has passed on. I love these vintage stamps from clear art stamps. This set is called "Favorite Fellas". I used SU real red card stock for the base. I inked the edges with SU Bravo Burgundy ink. The plaid and tan paper is from my stash. The images were also stamped in Bravo Burgundy. The tags were cut at 2.25 real size using my Cricut and the Joy of the Season cartridge. The eyelet is from Gina K., I sanded it a bit to give it a used look. I really could have used a brass eyelet but I didn't have any.

Z Fold Card

Hello Everyone, I'm having blog problems so I hope this posts OK.I'm back today with a new card design. Well, I think it's been around but it's new to me. I found this on youtube. As you can see my card is quite a bit different than her's. Still it's basically the same design.

My card was cut at 4.25x11", scored from the left at 2.75 and 5.5". I used SU black card stock for the base and Sahara sand for the first layer. I used Tea dye colored distress ink on the edges. I printed the sentiment on striped paper on my printer.

I'm posting three different views of this card so that you can see how it folds.Have a great week!

Vinyl Butterfly

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. I managed to get all my yardwork up to date, which was quite a feat. I have just a quick post tonight. I have been wanting to try cutting vinyl car decals with my Cricut. This is a butterfly I made for my Jeep. I used the Home Accents cartridge and cut the butterfly at seven inches. I had wall vinyl and that won't do. I stopped into a shop that does truck signs and asked if they had any scraps and came away with a nice selection, all for free. I used white because I wanted it to really show up on the dark green. If your interested in trying this check out youtube for some great tutorial videos.

Create-A-Critter Flash Cards

Happy Hump Day Everyone, I can't believe how fast this week is flying by. Last weekend I purchased a new Cricut cartridge, Create-A-Critter. This isn't what I would normally buy because I don't have any young children or grandchildren. I just thought the images are sooo darn cute. I thought I would try something new so I decided to make flash cards for my grandniece who is almost three years old. I cut the cards at 3X4 inches and the letters at 3 inches using the Base camp cartridge. After I cut the letters I left them on the mat and loaded it again, I exchanged the blade with a marker and then pressed cut. The markers draw exactly in the cut lines giving them an outline. Then I cut the different critters at different sizes to fit the cards. Design studio makes this very simple to do and takes out all the guess work. After gluing the letter to one side of the card and the critter to the other side I laminated them using "Your Story", by Provocraft. Flower Pot Pocket Card

Hello again, I can't believe it's Sunday night already. I've been reorganizing my computer favorites file. When ever I see a technique I like I save it so that I can try it at a later time. This project was saved about 9 months ago. I had forgotten all about it. I love this card. How cute this would have been for Mother's Day. I found the instructions for this card here:

Butterfly flowerpot adornment

Happy Hump day everyone, today is just a quick post of this cute 2 1/2 inch butterfly I made using my cricut. For mother's Day I gave my Mom a house plant. I made one of these and added it to the pot for a little something extra. I think these would also be nice if you're taking a get well plant to someone. This is not the plant I gave my Mom. I decided to make a few extra to have on hand. I used the Home Accents cart and cut the #2 butterfly at 2.5 inches real size. I also cut the blackout feature in white glimmer card stock. I cut the butterfly's antennas and tail off the blackout to make it easier to glue together. I attached the butterfly to the stick using tape and then covering the tape with card stock. The stick is actually a bamboo skewer(for kabobs) that I painted white.

Blue Moon Bracelet

Good Afternoon. I'm posting this afternoon because my husband came home early today and decided to clean the fireplace chimney. So I'm hiding until he's done, lol. Hello again everyone. It's been such a busy week here. Yesterday I hosted Mother's Day and my Daughter's Birthday. (I can hardly believe my baby turned 24 yesterday. She's the youngest of three and the only girl.) Add that to lots of yard work, window washing and some major dental work. I'm almost glad it's Monday and the start of a new week, lol. I have a few projects in the works for this week. But for today I'm posting another tin that I made for myself. I needed one for my laundry room as a catch all for loose change, buttons and small pieces of hardware from my husbands pockets.

Bees in a Jar

Happy Friday everyone,

Today's card is a fun one with a story behind it. It took place many years ago when I was a child of four and my big sister was nine. I found her catching bumblebees in a jar off of a flowering crab apple tree. When I asked her if she wasn't afraid of being stung, she said "No, these were nice fuzzy bees that didn't sting" and did I want to help her? Hey big sis was asking me to help, sure I wanted to help. So I picked a bee off of a bloom and put it in her jar. And then another and then even a third and not any stings. This was easy I thought. Well the fourth one stung me, my sister started to laugh and I went screaming to my Mother. So when the trees started to bloom last week I sent her this card. On the inside I wrote " The trees are in bloom, grab a jar and come on over. My bees don't sting." When she received this card she called me and we had a good laugh over it.

Owl Thank You Note

Hello again everyone, This will be just a quick post tonight. I've been at a cookout today where I ate too much and stayed too late, lol. This note card was so simple. The frame was made using a 4 X4 piece of double sided paper. Not sure if you can tell but one side is of owls. The owl was stamped and then punched out with a 1 1/4" square punch. I used clear button and glued an owl from the same paper to the back so he shows through. The scallop punch is from SU also.
I always give credit for ideas I've seen elsewhere. Somehow this one escapes me. If you seen this card with a punched bird, please let me know so I can include a link.

Patchwork Card

Happy National Scrap booking day everyone, I took the afternoon to finish up some long neglected projects. First on my list was a scrapbook I began for my great niece. I took it out, looked it over and put it away. I had started it a few years ago shortly after buying my Cricut. I feel like my work wasn't up to par. So I'll have to decide if I finish it or start over. Next I decided I needed to make my daughter her birthday card. Her b'day is next Sunday, the same day as Mother's day this year. I've seen many variations of this card but had never tried one. Two of the squares were embossed using my cuttlebug. Two were stamped. Three were covered in SU paper over card stock. The button on the number 24 was a clear button. I stamped a small flower and glued it to the back of the button. Tied a ribbon around the middle square. When I went to mount the squares I found I had measured wrong. Rather than cutting another layer I simply added the ribbon to separate the rows. Next time I need to watch my measuring.

Decorated Canister

Hello again Everyone, Last night I tried something new for me. I'm sure some of you have done these but I hadn't.

I was at My Mother's apartment this week when she was going to throw away this tin. It looks like it's never been used. I told her if she gave it to me I'd make her something with it. This is what I came up with. It's a tin for keeping her laundry quarters in. Right now she's using a plastic cup that sits on top of her fridge. I think this will look much nicer.

I used Cosmo Cricket "Boyfriend" paper. I think it's so cute and the clothes hanging on the line makes it a perfect fit. The ribbon is "Dusty Durango" from Stampin Up. I cut a series of flowers to layer and put a decorative brad in the center. I think this would be cute in my laundry room too. Mother's Day Card

Hello again,Before I begin I'd like to thank everyone for the kind comments. I'm amazed that anyone would even look at my work much less leave a kind comment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It's been a hectic few days around here and then tonight just as I was ready to post our Power went out AGAIN. It seems to be a monthly occurrence this year.
This is the Mother's day card I've made for my Mom. The paper is from My Minds Eye. The stamp is an oldie but goodie from SU. The border punch is new from SU. I added some minor bling using a Jelly Roll pen in copper which matched beautifully. I seem to be using the colors orange and green together alot. Green is my favorite color so that's not surprising, But orange? I like it but never really used the two together. Anyhoo I'm putting those colors away for a while and trying to branch out.

Sunflower Card

Happy Weekend everyone. I know it's the wrong season for sunflowers but I just love this SU stamp Set, Jar of Fun. When I first started playing with my Prismacolor markers I knew this was one card I wanted to do. The sunflowers and the Jar and the stems are three different stamps. I stamped the jar in Going Gray and the stems in Old Olive on one piece of card stock and the flowers on another piece. I colored them in with my markers and cut them out. The jar is glued on and the flowers adhered with pop dots to give it some dimension. The edge of the card stock base was inked around the edges. The three eyelets are from Gina K. Embossed and Inked Card

Hello again everyone. I'm not sure how I feel about today's card. The more I look at this photo the more I want to rework it.

I embossed the leaves and stems using my cuttlebug and folder. I then used SU classic Garden Green ink and dauber and colored the raised image. ( Gina K. has a video this week on Stamptv.com) The flowers were stamped on white card stock and then on vellum. I cut both of them out and layered on my card. I used half pearls in the flower centers.

I can't believe it's Friday tomorrow. I have no Idea where this week went, lol.

Retro Birthday

Hello everyone, I made this retro look b'day card for my BIL. He's just a few months older than I am and we love to tease each other about our age. The colors are a true turquoise, salmon and black. Colors I felt represented the 50's. The motorcycle was stamped and heat embossed, punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. I cut a 2" scalloped circle on my Cricut. The words were printed out on my computer, adhered to white card stock and cut out individually.

Hot Chicken Salad

Today I let my daughter plan tonight's dinner. She could choose anything she wanted as long as I had the ingredients on hand. She chose Hot Chicken Salad. ( She made a trip to the store to buy potato chips) It's a casserole I don't make very often. I'm a lifetime Weight Watcher member and this recipe definitely does not qualify. Without further a do, Hot Chicken Salad:
2 cups cooked, cubed chicken,
2 cups sliced celery,
1/2 cup toasted, sliced almonds,
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons grated onion
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup mayo, (light mayo works fine)
1/3 cup grated parm. cheese
1 cup crushed potato chips
Mix it all together except the crushed potato chips. Spoon it in to a 9X13" pan. Top with the crushed chips. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes.
I served this with Home Made Bread I had in the freezer, green beans and canned apricots. These are all her favorites.

Ink Reaction

This is just a simple card but I wanted to show you what happened today. The purple flowers and sentiment were actually stamped in Stampin Up black classic ink on SU whisper white card stock. I have no idea why this happened. It does not occur when I stamp on other card stock.
The green flowers were stamped once and then again without reinking. I love this stamp set. It's a level three hostess gift and that isn't going to happen, lol, so I've been watching a few on Ebay.

"You Stand Out" Card

Hi ya everyone, Today I began my spring cleaning. I finished one bathroom and half the kitchen cupboards. Boy am I going to be sore tomorrow. I must have gone up and down the step ladder 100 times.

This card I made for my sweet niece. She's 23 and has moved half way across the country from her family and friends. I like to drop her a card now and then so she knows I'm thinking of her. I haven't decided what to write on the inside. She always dresses so cute and has great fashion sense. I was thinking something about standing out in the crowd. If you have any suggestions please feel free to post.

The dresses are all the same stamp. I stamped the four black ones and then filled them in with prismacolor markers. The red and white dress was stamped in red and cut out. Then I used pop dots to have it stand out.

Mothers Day Card

Hello friends, I haven't posted at all this week. Last week I bought myself a set of Prismacolor markers. For those who may be unfamiliar with these they are an alcohol marker similar to Copic markers but much less expensive. I love these so much I played with them daily. I've made a lot of images and today I decided I needed to start using them.

Today's card I made for my Mother-in-law, whom I adore.

You may remember this green card stock. I used it for my Mothers Easter card. I cut a piece if green swirly vellum I found at AC Moore. I think it must have been made for this card stock because it's a perfect match. I glued the vellum to the crease side of the card using a 1/4" wide line of Zig two way glue. I cut the green frame on my Cricut using the Storybook Cartridge. I then glued the tulip image on top. I forgot to mention that I had heat embossed the tulips. To do this I need to use an embossing pen. I covered just the tulips and leaves with the pen. I didn't want the white background embossed. I must say the pen worked very well.

Easter Bunny Cake

Happy Easter everyone. I really wish I had something other than this cake to post. What can I say? It didn't look as good as I had hoped. I will say it tasted great and was well received at my families Easter dinner.

This was easy to make. Start with two round cake pans and bake per your recipe or mix. Use one round cake for the face and the other for the two ears and bow tie. Frost and then press coconut into the frosting.

Another day, another card. I just love this one. I think this could be used for any occasion. This was my first attempt at using this 2 step Stampin up stamp set. I did use my Stampin-ma-jig, but the ink was so light I had a hard time placing in in position. Next time I'll use a darker ink. I bought the plate at Jo-Ann's. The Happy Easter was heat embossed.

Funny Bunny Treat Cup Card

Her original design was for a candy wrapper but I needed a bunny and this one fit the bill. I did change the bunny's belly so that I could fit the SU treat cup. I haven't ever used these cups before and I must say it was very easy. I have some other ideas for these so they'll probably show up again in a future posts.

Spring Gift Bag

Welcome back to day four of my Seven Days to Easter posts. Today's project is a cute Cricut cut gift bag. I cut this using the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and cut it using the fit to page option. The paper I used is from Jo-Ann's and is double sided. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the side view. It's approximately 1 1/2 inches wide. And yes it has two handles. I filled a cellophane bag with Easter M&M's and tied it close with a pink polka dotted ribbon from Stampin Up. The chocolate bunny stamp is also from Stampin Up. He was stamped using Chocolate Chip SU ink. I took a bite out of his tail end with my small scallop circle punch. Feel free to leave any comments or questions.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hello Again

I think Blogger is playing and early April Fool's trick on me. I just posted this card and somehow it disappeared.

Anyhoo, I made this card using the prettiest green glimmered card stock from AC Moore. The green grass and flowers with leaves were stamped using the Stampin Up set "All The Best" and Marvy markers. I stamped them on white card stock and cut them out. Then I used pop dots to add some dimension. I cut the eggs on my cricut using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. I stamped them with the polka dot background stamp from the SU stamp set "Polka Dots and Paisley" I outlined them with the matching marker to give them some definition. The ribbon came in a small set from Targets dollar bins.

Easter Egg Boxes

Hi everyone, can you believe it's Monday evening already. My weekend just flew by. I'm so glad I've had time to finish a few Easter gifts and cards. I hate all the last minute pressure to finish up.

I made this darling little candy box for my Mom using my Cricut and Design Studio. I filled it with the small butterfinger chocolate eggs.
A big thanks goes out to Cindy McVey for creating and posting this free cut file on her blog @ http://crazy4crafting.blogspot.com/. Her cut files are amazing. She also has this in a larger version that hold six Cadbury eggs. I added the embellishment and ribbon. I need to make another one and I won't be using this gemstone card stock. It's beautiful and cuts good but I don't like the way it folds. I should have known better because I had the same problem when I've used it as a card base.

Good Saturday morning, I had a very productive day yesterday. My work table was loaded up with ink pads, punches, stamp sets, paper pads and you name it. So much in fact I had to keep moving things to make room to work. So I hung some shelving and started to organize. I spent the whole day and Wow what a difference that makes. I can't wait to go and create.

Today's card is just a simple note card. I left off a sentiment. I do this sometimes because I like to have some blank cards at the ready. I used SU paper, card stock, and ribbon. The Tea Pot and cups are from SU's stamp set Funky Favorites. I cut the scalloped circles on my Cricut using the Mini Monograms cartridge. The Lacey edge is a MS border punch. Because I can't seem to leave well enough alone, lol, I added the two cups to the inside.

Apron Invites

Good Afternoon Everyone, It is so beautiful here for this time of year that I just am in awe. But some how I have managed to pull a muscle in my shoulder so I'm inside for the day trying to take it easy. I thought today would be a good day to go through some of my paper scraps. I'm so glad I did. I came up with these invitations. I can think of so many uses for these. Father's day, a cookout, Mother's day, or Easter Sunday. The possibilities are endless.

I made the card and apron using a template I made after seeing something similar. I am the worlds worst at making templates so I really need to tweak it.

I used the SU Introducing stamp set on both of these. The feminine one I used rose red ink and a pink jelly roll pen to help it stand out. I punched out the bottom with the new SU scallop border punch. The paper is just left over scraps I had. The ribbon and brads are from Jo-Anns. I think small buttons would be cute too. Or maybe a string of pearls using half pearls.

The masculine card was stamped with SU chocolate chip. The paper and brads I had picked up at the dollar general. The ribbon is from AC Moore.

Bow-Easy

Hi all, Sorry I haven't posted lately. The weather here as been beautiful and I have been out enjoying it. I also just finished a "top secret" peep project. My sister has made me promise not to post any pictures until after the entry deadline. You'll just have to wait until Sunday to see it. So for today just another of my favorite tools. If you have trouble with the teeny tiny bows like I do you may want to pick up one of these. It makes perfect bows in 7 different sizes. Very easy to use if you follow the directions. I bought mine on eBay, but you can use the email address in the photo to order one.

I decided to use some of the winnings to send Lynne a thank you card.
I began by making a checkerboard pattern with one of the many stamps she sent. Then I stamped small SU flowers with the yellow ink pad she also sent. The bird was cut using my Cricut and the Home Decor cartridge. I added MS black glitter to the his eye. I used a SU stamp for the Thanks and then highlighted it with a glitter pen.

Simple Birthday Card

This was super simple. I cut the card at 8 1/2 x 11 and folded it in half to make a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card. The top layer was cut at 5 1/4 x 4. I stamped Birthday Wishes and heat embossed it using a silver embossing powder. I attached it to the card using pewter colored hardware. I used my small Stampin Up slot punch to open up the top of the card so that I could run the ribbon all the way around. I did end up changing the ribbon after this picture was taken. I used the same ribbon only in a pale yellow.

At last, it's going to be a beautiful sunny day here in Central New York. I can't wait to get out and enjoy it.

And Yet Another St. Patricks Card

Oh my, I just couldn't get a good photo of this card. The card stock I used has a satin finish and that may be the problem.
I used A Child's Year cartridge for this card. I really like the card cut. The Shamrock I cut twice, 1/4 inch apart. The sentiment was stamped and the heat embossed in gold. I highlighted the shamrock with a gold glitter pen.

Simple Birthday Card

Sundays, I love them. Sunday nights, not so much. I hate to see the weekend end.

I like to go back and take a look at some of my older Cricut Cartridges. Today I rediscovered Beyond Birthdays. At one time this was my favorite. Then new carts came along and it was soon forgotten.

I cut the Happy Birthday at two inches, and then cut it in the blackout feature rather than the shadow feature in two inches also. I like the effect on this card.

The flower was cut using the George and Basic Shapes cart. I cut the flower 3 times, twice in the solid rust and once in the patterned rust. Each cut was a 1/4 smaller in size. The ribbon was a perfect match, although it doesn't look it in this photo. The paper was purchased at Michaels in the single sheet section.

Products I Love

I'm starting a new topic today, products I love.
I will be posting these from time to time. Today's post is the Quickstik from QuickKutz. I haven't seen this in my local craft shops. I purchased mine on Amazon. If you own a Cricut you need this, or something similar. It's used to pick up and position the smallest of cuts or pieces. The end is a bit of tack that picks up the cut but then gently releases it once your glue dries. The other end is chiseled. I used this to hold down and smooth out pieces while they dry .

Another St.Patrick's Day Card

Cricut card
I woke up to overcast skies this morning but at least the snow had stopped. In all I think we received 30 inches. That would have been bad enough but the winds turned it into drifts of 4 and 5 feet. That was enough to keep me inside today.
I took advantage of the opportunity to work on another St. Patrick's Day card.

This is a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inch card. I used my Cricut to cut the shamrock from A Child's Year cartridge. The hunter green and very vanilla card stock is from Stampin Up. The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp, stamped in hunter green and heat embossed. The patterned paper is from Michael's. I used pop dots to add some dimension.

St. Patrick's Day Card

Cricut Card

This card I made for Wee Katie. She's 2 1/2 and in love with snowmen.

I cut the card at 5 inches and the hat at 1 inch using A Child's Year cartridge.

The Snowman was cut at 2 1/2 inches using The Snow Friends cartridge. I had to ink in his mouth. The pieces were just to small even using my sticky pen.

The word bubble was cut at 1 1/2 inches from the George and basic shapes cartridge. The stamp is from Stamping up! In hunter green and heat embossed. I inked the edges and used pop ups on both.

I don't know if you can tell from the pic, I used the glitter and tape technique for the shamrocks.

If I made this again I'd cut the snowman larger and either not use a ribbon or leave out the shamrocks.

Cricut Designed Laptop

Good morning everyone. Looks like were in for a big snowstorm. I don't mind it as long as my power doesn't go out again, lol.

I love cutting vinyl on my Cricut E. I decided to use up some of my scraps and create a design for my laptop. I used the Home Decor Cartridge. The large bird is cut at 9" and the other at 5".

Faux Pinwheel Card

Good morning All, well it was until my power went off. Not to worry it's back on now.

A very dear friend of mine has been in the hospital for the last few days. I took advantage of the power outage and made her a card to take with me when I went to visit today. I did add a sentiment to the bottom and inside of this card. Sorry those pics didn't come out good so I can't post them.

I found this technique on youtube. From there I went to the Stamperdog site to take a look around. Well let me tell you, I was not disappointed. She's a Stampin Up! demonstrator with some very cute ideas and other videos too. Here's a link to this video on her site.

The only change I made was I didn't use dotto. I used my Zig two way pen. I put a dab on the backs of each square and let it dry. Then the glue is reposition able. When I finished the pinwheel I went back and re glued with my zig pen so that it was permanent. Also I don't have a square punch so I did cut them out with my guillotine. I just love this technique and this card. I'll be making more of these in different colors.

Faux Window Card #2

Good Afternoon everyone. For the first time in over a week we had sunshine. It only lasted about three hours but that was enough to boost my batteries.

I enjoyed making yesterdays card. I just wasn't happy with the results. So I decided to give it another try using a different stamp. This time I used a pine tree stamp. Stamping my paper four times to make it look like a stand of trees. I heat embossed it with a crystal clear embossing powder. I added a wee bit of MS glitter to make the trees shimmer. I used a glitter pen to draw a line of snow under the trees. I drew a small red cardinal in one tree. I didn't add a background because I like the look of the stark white.

I do like this card better than the first. But next time I'll make it smaller so that I can add a sentiment to the front.

Faux Window Card

I was so inspired by a card and video I saw on Stamptv.com that I decided to give it a try. I think it came out good for my first attempt. I went back after I took this photo and tacked down the window panes a bit more. I will Definitely make this type of card again.

I used a rubber stamp and ink, blender pen with a glittery ink and watercolor pencils on watercolor paper. Here's a link to Gina K's. site and video. She did such a fantastic tutorial video, you won't want to miss it.

Valentine Cookies

I just finished my Valentine cookies. Now I have to find a place to hide them before the cookie monster who lives on my couch does, hehe.

I love making cut out cookies. For these I used an antique heart shaped cookie cutter my Mom gave me. I love that it has scalloped edges. I don't spend much time decorating them because my family eats them up so fast.

More Valentine Cards

Here are the last of my valentines. The last one is a very simple card I made for my DH. I cut out the hearts with the Cricut, covered the back side with a strip of tape, sticky side over the heart holes. Then covered them with red glitter so it only sticks to the hearts. I layed that on a strip of red card stock. Tied on a ribbon and added a personal sentiment to the inside.The valentine's stamp is from Stampin Up!. Sometimes less is more.

The first and second cards I made for my sister and niece. I stamped the truck on red glitter paper and cut it out. Then stamped the truck again on card stock and colored it in with Marvy markers. Then I pop-dotted the red truck on top. I used the sentiment "Loads of Love" on both. I filled in the truck bed with hearts and added the black ribbon to make it look like the road on my nieces. On the other one I stamped the dogs, colored them in and cut it out. I also pop-dotted them in the truck bed.

Magnetic neckwrap

Ilove this neck wrap. It goes with so many of my sweaters. It couldn't have been easier to make. And a great way to use up leftover yarn.

All it takes is about 20 yards of yarn, a spool of 32gauge jewelry wire, and a magnetic necklace clasp, scissors and a measuring tape.

Begin with a 21 inch length, loop back 20 inches, loop another 20 inches, and then back another 20 inches, repeat all together 18 complete loops or (36 strands) You may want to hold this up to your neck to see if you like the length. Tie off the loose ends. Take a 6 inch length of wire and slip it through one end of the looped yarn and twist it tightly. do the same with the other end of the loop. You should have more than enough wire it thread it through one end of the magnetic clasp. Feed it through the clasp two more times and then twist around the already twisted end. Repeat with the other end. (It may help to loop the yarn over a door knob while doing this to keep the yarn taut.)

To wear the neck wrap just give it a twist, clasp the magnetic ends and enjoy.

Mom's Valentine Card

When I was at my Mother's home this weekend she asked me to take down a box from the top shelf of her closet. It was a large shirt box and felt heavy for it's size. She asked if I had a minute to look at something. Inside the box were Valentine's her father had given her. Each card had it's own small flat box. Most of them were 70+ years old. She had saved them all these years. The Valentines themselves were very ornate. Most had lace, ribbons, embossing and embellishments. With that in mind I came home and made my Mom her Valentine. It was much harder than I thought it would be. As hard as I tried I just couldn't make one that fussy. This is what I came up with. I'm not happy with it, but I gave it to her today. She was so pleased. I also gave her a Package of the candy I made yesterday (see 2/8/10 post) That may have sweetened her up ;)

I embossed the greeting and flower stems and the hearts. I used pop dots for the flower heads. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the lacey edge. The ribbon came from Micheal's.

Valentine Candy Packaging

In my last post I made Valentine candy.

I thought I'd share the Valentines packages I made to put the candy in.

I bought the clear bags at AC Moore and tied them with pink ribbon.

Next I cut these packages out using my Cricut Expression, design studio, the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge and a cut file that Kasey at Stayathomemomcrafts.blogspot.com

so generously shared. I punched a tag out of the scrap paper and tied to to the ribbon. The card stock came from JoAnns.

Valentines Candy

This morning I decided to make some Valentines Candy for friends and family. This year I've made "Rollo Turtles". At least thats what my Mom calls them.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper place on small pretzel and center a unwraped rollo on top.

Bake in the oven for 3 1/2 minutes. Remove from the oven and gently tap a pecan on top. pushing down just slightly. Allow to cool. Enjoy.

A card for my daughter

Yesterday was such a laid back day that I decided to finish up my Valentines. Here's a simple one I made for my DD. I used Stampin Up card stock and paper. The heart was cut from The Storybook cartridge using my Cricut Expression, the half pearls are from AC Moore and the ribbon came from the Dollar tree.
